Warriors rookie shoots his shot to recruit LeBron James
Yaxel Lendeborg became the latest member of the Golden State Warriors with a recruitment pitch for LeBron James.
Lendeborg appeared on Bleacher Report on Sunday before his Warriors’ NBA Summer League clash against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The 11th overall pick in last month’s draft was asked to make his pitch for James to come to the Bay Area, and the youngster obliged.
“I know you don’t like rookies that much, but I’m not the average rookie,” Lendeborg said. “And I would love to learn under you.
“So if you’re looking to play with the greatest shooter of all time and a close friend of yours, Draymond [Green], it would be great to come to the Warriors, and we’ll be glad to have.”

Lendeborg isn’t your average rookie in the sense that he’ll be 24 years old by the time the 2026-27 season rolls around. He’s nearly two full years older than Bronny James, who’ll be entering his 3rd season in the NBA.
The Michigan alum did not exactly make the best pitch out there, but he’s showcased his personality in the brief time he’s been in the NBA. He even admitted to hating Steph Curry during the peak of the Warriors-Cavaliers rivalry, which may earn him some brownie points from King James.
Both Green and Curry have both made their cases to try to get James into a Warriors uniform. But Green’s latest off-court drama with a former LeBron teammate may not help Golden State’s chances.
Erling Haaland sends parting message to the U.S. after his World Cup exit
Erling Haaland’s eventful World Cup run in the United States has come to an end.
Norway’s top striker won the hearts of several American fans throughout his team’s resounding run to the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals. Following Norway’s tournament-ending loss to England on Saturday, Haaland said farewell to the place he’ll forever associate with his first-ever World Cup experience.
“Goodbye 🇺🇸,” Haaland wrote along with a selfie of him wearing shades and a backwards cap. “It’s been emotional!”

Haaland became a fan favorite for his immense goal-scoring prowess. He tallied 7 goals across 5 games played for Norway, trailing only Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe entering the World Cup semifinals.
The 25-year-old striker arguably got even more love for his antics off the pitch. Haaland thoroughly enjoyed his time in every state he visited, and wasn’t afraid to take silly photos to commemorate his time stateside.
“Dallas is amazing, unbelievable. It’s so nice. I’m coming back here, I’ll tell you what. The people are just so nice here, so positive. I don’t know what it is. They’re just like enjoying life. It’s amazing, so friendly."

Haaland memes flooded social media as well, with his goofy personality seemingly being in stark contrast with his ferocious attacks during each World Cup match he played.
Erling isn’t the first member of the Haaland family to play in a World Cup on U.S. soil. His father, Alfie Haaland, also played for Norway when America hosted the tournament in 1994.
Phillies fans all said the same thing after Zack Wheeler outpitched Tarik Skubal
The Philadelphia Phillies may secretly be the biggest winners of Zack Wheeler getting snubbed from the 2026 MLB All-Star Game.
Wheeler refused the MLB’s late invitation to serve as an injury replacement during Tuesday’s Midsummer Classic at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pa. The 36-year-old pitcher had the perfect opportunity to embarrass MLB for overlooking him before the All-Star break with a head-to-head duel against reigning AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal.
The Phillies star outshone Skubal with a 10-strikeout performance across six scoreless innings. Skubal gave up a pair of earned runs in his five innings of work as Philadelphia cruised to a 5-0 victory at Comerica Park in Detroit, Mich.
Several Phillies fans could not help but wonder if Wheeler getting left off the initial list of All-Stars was the best thing to happen to the team’s starting rotation.
Zack Wheeler not making the All-Star team might have been the best thing for this baseball team.
— Jack Fritz (@JackFritzWIP) July 12, 2026
Man on a mission.
Almost like the all star snub was a good thing for him he has been light out since
— George C | The Edge. (@EdgeDailyReport) July 12, 2026
Selfishly I hope the ASG committee disrespects him next year too
— Everything Philly (@PhillySportLoop) July 12, 2026
Through his first 15 starts, Wheeler has an ERA of 2.13 with an immaculate 0.89 WHIP entering the All-Star break. Among players with at least 80 innings pitched, Wheeler has the 4th-best ERA and 2nd-best WHIP behind only Jacob Misiorowski.
Wheeler took things even further in his two starts since being snubbed from the All-Star game, allowing just a single run and striking out 24 batters in 13.0 IP.
The Phillies already have one NL Cy Young candidate in Christopher Sanchez atop their rotation. If Wheeler continues to pitch like a man possessed by the spirit of pure rage, Philadelphia may have the best one-two pitching punch in baseball.
With the Phillies also reportedly in on the Tarik Skubal trade sweepstakes, Philadelphia’s pitching rotation could potentially become a three-headed monster.
Fans are already calling 1 top-5 pick a bust in Summer League
Los Angeles Clippers rookie Keaton Wagler already has his fair share of doubters before even playing his first game in the league.
The Clippers made Wagler the 5th overall pick in a draft many consider to have an elite first foursome. Wagler looked like the odd man out of the top five in his NBA Summer League debut Thursday in a point guard showdown against fellow rookie guard Darius Acuff Jr.
While Acuff had 19 points and 7 assists in a 91-85 Sacramento Kings victory, Wagler finished with 7 points on 1/7 shooting and had a team-worst -23 during his time on the court.
Several fans felt like the performance raised red flags about Wagler, and that same chatter echoed through the first half of Sunday’s game against the Utah Jazz. After a 2/9 shooting clip with 5 points at halftime, fans were sounding the alarms once more.
The Clippers (and their fans) have to be sick watching Keaton Wagler through 1.5 SL games. This is ugly.
— Draft Dummies (@DraftDummies) July 13, 2026
Not one to react to anything in the Summer League.
— Josh Gitt (@joshgitt1987) July 13, 2026
But yikes, Keaton Wagler does not look good at all.
Keaton Wagler is garbage. He looks legitimately scared out there.
— Raheem Palmer (@iamrahstradamus) July 13, 2026
Wagler has major bust potential. Idk if he will be able to handle heavy ball pressure and nba level defenders. His lack of physical tools was such a glaring flaw
— K.C. (@Not___KC) July 13, 2026
Peterson is bullying him
The Illinois alum responded to all the noise in the third quarter. He went off for 18 points, including a nasty stepback to bury the Jazz in a 77-54 hole.
🚨 Make that 18 POINTS for Keaton Wagler in the third quarter!! 🚨 pic.twitter.com/8MUYEfEfkS
— LA Clippers (@LAClippers) July 13, 2026
Some fans, however, still weren’t convinced. Many felt like the biggest concern remained to be Wagler’s inability to drive past borderline NBA defenders, regardless of if his outside shot is falling or not.
Funniest thing about this Keaton Wagler game is that you can tell it's fake. Contested stepbacks and middys are not consistently good shots in summer league but it's nice to see he *can*
— rodlo 🪬 (@roddystr) July 13, 2026
Gosh, I hate admitting this because he was such a killer in College.
— Jordan Stocks (@StockTalks21) July 13, 2026
But man, Keaton Wagler can’t get by anyone with the dribble in Summer League.
He’s basically a catch & shoot guy or taking long, contested jumpers 😬
Wagler finished with 23 points on 6/16 shooting to go along with 4 assists in a 104-82 Clippers victory. He matched No. 2 overall pick Darryn Peterson, who also had 23 points on a worse 6/18 clip.
While there may be legitimate concerns about Wagler’s athleticism down the line, it’s nearly impossible to project a teenager’s entire career based on two NBA Summer League games. Calling him a bust after he scored 23 points in a glorified exhibition game seems borderline ridiculous.
Only time will tell if his detractors were right or if Wagler turns into the star the Clippers were hoping for.
Udonis Haslem has scathing response to Draymond Green for dragging him into Bam Adebayo incident
Udonis Haslem did not take long before responding to Draymond Green’s online callout.
The Golden State Warriors star, on Sunday morning, spoke about the recent Bam Adebayo-Tyler Herro incident that resulted in the former punching the latter. Green, who infamously punched ex-teammate Jordan Poole during a practice session in 2022, recalled Haslem being critical of him during his own violent episode.
Haslem had chastised Green, then a 10-year veteran, for picking a fight with a young player he was supposed to be taking under his wing. Green felt like Haslem needed to criticize Adebayo the same way he did Green years ago.
Instead, Haslem doubled down with another public callout of Green (profanity edited by LBS).
“@Money23Green I see some things just don’t change,” Haslem wrote. “You was [sic] on sucka s–t four years ago when you swung on Jordan Poole and you on sucka s–t now. I usually don’t engage but since you went so far left to get my attention here it is!!!
“If you think your big 32 year old, 3 or 4 rings at the time having a– swinging on a 23 year old Jordan Poole at the time is the same then you are even more delusional that I thought.
…
“Ion really vibe you and I think you know that so unless it’s me on prime talking hoops I won’t mention you at all. You brought me into this and I am retired and out the way. I suggest you keep it pushing cause I ain’t giving out no more hall passes bra!”
Haslem stated that Adebayo and Herro are both younger players who still “haven’t figured it all out yet,” compared to Green, who had already won four championships by the time he clashed with Poole.
The Heat veteran also claimed that Adebayo, who is “strong as a baby bear,” pulled his punch against Herro, unlike Green, whom he claimed threw a “club punch” at Poole.
You can read his full statement here.
Green has been vocal in trying to recruit LeBron James to the Warriors this offseason. One has to wonder if Haslem, who won two championships with James in Miami, would do his best to dissuade that from happening behind the scenes.
Caitlin Clark left in pain after getting elbowed by Chelsea Gray
Caitlin Clark seemingly got more of the same during Sunday’s game.
The Indiana Fever superstar Clark was on the receiving end of another painful moment as her team faced the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. In the first half at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., Clark was defending Aces star guard Chelsea Gray in the post.
Gray attempted to hit Clark with a couple of fakes and caught Clark in the midsection with an elbow before pivoting the other way into her shot. Eventually, Gray succeeded in drawing the foul on Clark, but Clark immediately fell to the ground in pain because of the elbow that she took from Gray in the process.
Here is the video.
Caitlin Clark & Chelsea Gray got physical in the postpic.twitter.com/uTrjMtMvUg
— Kyle Ingram (@SnapshotKyle) July 13, 2026
Clark soon popped up to her feet to confront the officials over the play. While the referees did decide to initiate a review for a hostile act, they ultimately just upheld the original call on the floor, giving Clark a common foul.
Though many would call that normal basketball contact, everything involving Clark these days comes with some increased scrutiny. The 24-year-old All-Star Clark was recently hit in the throat by Alyssa Thomas of the Phoenix Mercury during a game (see the video here), resulting in a retroactive flagrant 2 foul and a one-game suspension for Thomas.
In response to the Thomas incident, a group of House Republicans sent a letter to WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert demanding answers over Clark’s treatment by opponents on the court. After Sunday’s game, those GOP lawmakers may have just gotten some more ammo thanks to the elbow by Gray, herself a six-time All-Star and four-time WNBA champion, to Clark.
Everyone made the same joke after Conor McGregor blew out his knee
Fans did not wait around to crack jokes at Conor McGregor’s expense.
The former two-division champion had a disastrous return to the octagon on Saturday in the main event of UFC 329. McGregor suffered a serious knee injury just moments after his fight began against Max Holloway at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
McGregor threw a couple of kicks and instantly fell to the canvas. Once it became clear that Conor could no longer compete, referee Mike Beltran stopped the fight just a minute into the clash. Holloway added insult to injury when he clowned McGregor after the match.
Several fans joined in, joking that Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo ended up throwing more punches than McGregor that weekend in Las Vegas.

The blow left a mark underneath Herro’s eye. It was, in fact, cleaner than anything McGregor was able to land against Holloway.
McGregor was not in a good headspace hours after his freak injury. He sent out a message following a situation he could “only describe as hell.”
Yankees are eyeing 1 All-Star trade target
The New York Yankees want to shore up their backstop position ahead of the trade deadline.
The Yankees would like to acquire Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman via trade, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported on Sunday. Nightengale also notes that the Yankees are eyeing Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers as well.
Goodman, 26, is one of baseball’s most underrated power hitters. He has made two All-Star teams with the Rockies now and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2025 after hitting 31 home runs with 91 RBIs.
This season, Goodman has been performing even more impressively. Through just the first half thus far, the righty-batting Goodman has 27 home runs and 57 RBIs on a career-high .862 OPS.
Still, Nightengale adds that the Rockies, who are an NL-worst 39-59, are planning to keep Goodman at this point. That makes sense too given that Goodman remains under club control through 2028.
Nevertheless, the Yankees, sitting second in the AL East at 54-42, will see what they can do to improve their underwhelming catcher rotation of Austin Wells and Ali Sanchez. Particularly with New York recently getting rebuffed by one other All-Star trade target, they might be willing to make Colorado an offer that they can’t refuse for Goodman.
Jonathan Kuminga is expected to land with 1 team
Jonathan Kuminga may be destined for a return to the Pacific Division.
The former NBA lottery pick Kuminga is expected to land with the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports reported on Sunday. Deveney adds that a Kuminga deal would likely be a sign-and-trade with the Atlanta Hawks featuring options and non-guarantees after the first year that would allow Kuminga to test free agency again as soon as possible.
Kuminga, the 23-year-old forward, is an unrestricted free agent this offseason after getting his $24.3 million team option declined by the Hawks earlier this month. A versatile 6-foot-7 scorer and rebounder, Kuminga still has some untapped potential but only averaged 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for the Hawks last season.
As for the Lakers, they have been pursuing Kuminga for much of the summer after their forward depth took a hit with the departures of LeBron James and Rui Hachimura. Though the Lakers did just give a four-year, $52 million contract to Sandro Mamukelashvili, their starting power forward spot may still be totally up for grabs.
We recently learned that Kuminga was seeking a deal closer to the range of $25 million per year. But the Lakers, up to this point, have only offered Kuminga a much more modest contract, which might explain why a deal still has yet to get done.
A sign-and-trade, meanwhile, is a viable way to both a) get Kuminga closer to his desired compensation and b) ensure that the Lakers can fit him under their luxury-tax constraints. If for whatever reason an agreement with the Lakers falls through though, there have been a couple of other suitors mentioned in connection with Kuminga lately.
Frank Vogel lands a job with a big-name NBA team
Frank Vogel is back in the spotlight.
The former NBA head coach Vogel is joining the coaching staff of the Golden State Warriors, veteran NBA writer Marc Stein reported on Sunday. Shams Charania of ESPN adds that Vogel will be serving as the lead assistant under Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.
Vogel, 53, has nearly a decade-and-a-half of NBA head coaching experience, spanning stints with the Indiana Pacers, the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Phoenix Suns. Over his time as a head coach, Vogel won three division titles, made three conference finals appearances, and led the Lakers to the NBA championship during the 2020 bubble in Orlando, Fla.
After sitting out of the 2024-25 campaign, Vogel spent last season as an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks under then-head coach Jason Kidd. With the Mavericks moving to fire Kidd in May and ultimately replacing him with ex-Michigan head coach Dusty May, Vogel is now getting a fresh start as well.
The Warriors are certainly an interesting landing spot for the veteran coach Vogel. For one, Kerr just signed a new two-year contract with Golden State, meaning that Vogel could now potentially be in line to serve as his successor.
For another, Vogel famously used to coach LeBron James on the Lakers from 2019-22. The Warriors are in hot pursuit of James in free agency right now, and they have recently gained some confidence that they could win the sweepstakes for the former NBA MVP.
Tarik Skubal’s stance on his future is revealed
Tarik Skubal might not necessarily be clamoring to get out of Detroit just yet.
The Detroit Tigers ace Skubal has informed friends that he badly wants to stay with the team for the rest of the season, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported on Sunday. Nightengale adds that Skubal believes the Tigers have a legitimate shot of winning the World Series and that he has “zero appetite” to be moved ahead of the Aug. 3 MLB trade deadline.
Skubal, 29, was drafted by the Tigers in 2018 and made his big-league debut for them in 2020. He has been with Detroit ever since then and has developed into the best starting pitcher in the AL (when healthy), winning back-to-back Cy Young Awards in 2024 and 2025.
Still, the Tigers are in a very difficult position right now with Skubal. The left-hander can become a free agent after the 2026 season following tense (and ultimately failed) negotiations with the team last offseason.
Detroit’s season was also on life support just a few weeks ago, making it seem like a no-brainer that they would move Skubal ahead of the trade deadline. But the Tigers have since improved their fortunes a bit by winning 9 of their last 12 games (though they are still 3.5 games back of a Wild Card spot at 44-52).
Regardless of Skubal’s wishes, his future might ultimately boil down to whether or not a team meets Detroit’s sizable ask in trade negotiations. As it stands right now, the most likely club to do so appears to be this National League behemoth.
Timeline surfaces for LeBron James to make his free agent decision
The summer of waiting around for LeBron James may soon be coming to an end.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star James is expected to make his free agent decision this coming week, Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports reported Sunday. Deveney adds that James’ decision will likely then free up the market for other top remaining free agents.
James, 41, has officially been an unrestricted free agent for close to two full weeks now. But he continues to keep interested teams guessing, forcing them to recruit James through some bizarre methods.
As it stands right now, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, the Philadelphia 76ers, and possibly the Golden State Warriors appear to be leading the race to sign James. Meanwhile, rivals believe that a particular one of those teams has pole position for the 22-time NBA All-Star.
For reference, James held his “The Decision” special to announce that he was signing with the Miami Heat on July 8, 2010 (one week after free agency began). He then announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 on July 11 (10 days after free agency began) and later announced his decision to head to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018 on July 1 (the same day that free agency began).
James is now past all three of his previous timelines during this free agent go-around, but the waiting game might finally ending soon. The last we heard of James’ situation meanwhile was that he could come as a package deal with one notable former All-Star.
Conor McGregor reveals his future plans after his latest injury
Conor McGregor’s much-hyped UFC comeback ended after about a minute on Saturday night, but he appears determined to make sure it is not his last appearance in the octagon.
McGregor seemingly indicated that he intends to try and fight again after hurting his knee 69 seconds into Saturday’s fight with Max Holloway (video here). In an early morning X post, McGregor expressed his shock over what transpired, but defiantly indicated that he plans to make a comeback.
“I will overcome this. I will not be deterred. I will return,” McGregor wrote.
I was so sharp and so ready for this fight I cannot believe what has happened. The talk of me being off while walking in to the fight is nonsense. I was calm, ready, and confident. I am in shock what has taken place. The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face…
— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) July 12, 2026
If McGregor does return, it is fair to question at what level he would be at. Saturday’s fight was to be his first in five years, and he turns 38 on Tuesday. Many of his previous attempts to return to UFC have been derailed by injury as well.
The nature and severity of McGregor’s injury are still unknown. Clearly, he is ready to get to rehabbing whatever it is.
Russell Westbrook is being linked to 1 NBA contender
Russell Westbrook has a potential landing spot in NBA free agency, but like a number of other moves, it is contingent on what LeBron James does.
The Miami Heat have been named as a potential landing spot for Westbrook, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post. That move would only be possible, however, if James does not return to Miami.
Westbrook is the sort of low-cost veteran that makes a lot of sense for the Heat. He averaged 15.2 points and 6.7 assists per game for the Sacramento Kings last season and can still contribute to a team, especially one with designs on winning a championship.
The Heat’s interest being contingent on James’ status is probably not down to just money. Westbrook and James had an infamously tense relationship when they played for the Los Angeles Lakers together. Westbrook, at the very least, probably isn’t all that interested in teaming up with James again, be it in Miami or somewhere else.
Miami is eyeing a number of veterans that could add some scoring punch alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. Westbrook is not the player he once was, but they clearly believe the 37-year-old still has something to offer.
Top EuroLeague defender signs with NBA contender
An intriguing player from EuroLeague is making the jump to the NBA in 2026-27.
Alpha Diallo, the reigning EuroLeague Defender of the Year, is signing a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The 29-year-old will be due $1.4 million in guaranteed money.
EuroLeague Defender of the Year Alpha Diallo has agreed to a one-year, $1.4 million deal to sign with the Denver Nuggets, agents Jared Mucha and Javon Phillips of Excel Sports Management tell ESPN. — Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) July 12, 2026
Diallo played collegiately at Providence and has spent nearly his entire professional career playing for Monaco. He averaged 1.4 steals per game last season as his team won the French league title.
Essentially, the Nuggets are taking a chance on a player that could contribute to their rotation at little cost to them. If Diallo can bring his defensive prowess to the NBA, they could have a steal on their hands. If not, there is no real long-term damage.
Denver has some key rotation pieces that they are not guaranteed to keep. Diallo offers them some insurance there, too.
Blue Jays manager was prepared to snub Cam Schlittler as All-Star starter
Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider was ready to snub the AL’s leader in earned run average as his starting pitcher for the upcoming All-Star Game.
Schneider, the manager of the AL All-Stars, announced Sunday that Dylan Cease would be tasked with starting Tuesday’s game for the American League. That choice was bound to be controversial, especially when comparing Cease with New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler.
Schlittler decided not to pitch in Tuesday’s game in order to focus on the second half of the season, taking the decision out of Schneider’s hands. Schneider, however, said Cease would have started no matter what.
“If Cam was going to pitch, my decision was still going to be Dylan,” Schneider said.
Schneider on giving Cease the AL honour:
— Mitch Bannon (@MitchBannon) July 12, 2026
“Whenever a guy's leading the league in strikeouts in an era like right now, you got really good stuff, you're very representative of the American League. So came to that conclusion yesterday.” https://t.co/998OwQI5Ms
Cease does, in fact, lead the AL in strikeouts with 148. Schlittler is not far behind him with 137, however, and his 2.05 ERA is superior to Cease’s 2.56 mark. Schneider is within his rights to select who he wants, but that probably would have sparked some allegations of favoritism considering Cease pitches for him, while Schlittler pitches for a division rival.
Cease is having a great season. Schlittler, however, has done some things that baseball has not seen in a very long time. For Schneider’s sake, perhaps it is for the best that the decision was taken out of his hands entirely.
Josh Allen is already considering 1 post-NFL career
Josh Allen’s NFL career is nowhere near finished, but he is already giving a bit of thought to what he might do once it’s over.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback admitted he has already considered potentially going into broadcasting once his playing career is over. He did, however, express some concern about having to be too critical of players.
“I do think it would be cool if you can keep it from a strictly broadcasting angle,” Allen said, via Alex Sherman of CNBC. “When players go from players to journalists and say certain things that they hated people saying about them, I think that’s where it gets a little murky for me. But, I do think that it would be something I would entertain. I can’t say for sure, ‘yes’ or for sure ‘no’ right now, because I do go back and forth on it. But yeah, I’d have to put some more thought into it.”
Both Tony Romo and Tom Brady have followed the quarterback-to-broadcaster pipeline, albeit to somewhat mixed reviews. Networks would want to see whether he can analyze and explain complex concepts as they happen.
This is all a long way off. Allen only just turned 30 in May, and while there is certainly good money in broadcasting, he is making plenty as a quarterback as well.
Stefon Diggs sends a clear message to NFL teams
Stefon Diggs remains unsigned on the eve of training camp, and the veteran wide receiver thinks he is being undervalued.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel this week, Diggs reluctantly conceded that some No. 1 wide receivers might be better than him at this stage of his career. However, he firmly believes he is better than virtually any No. 2 option, and is probably cheaper than some of them.
“In my opinion, I can compete with anybody. But take those as your 1s, right? You can’t name a No. 2 better than me. There’s not a No. 2 on a team,” Diggs said. “Name your No. 2 wide receiver right now and tell me how much he makes. And my last question, is he better than me?”
Some wide receivers would certainly have an argument — Tee Higgins of the Bengals, for one — but Diggs has a point. He had 1,013 receiving yards for the New England Patriots and caught four touchdowns, so the 32-year-old can certainly still contribute in the right situation.
Diggs has not even drawn too much free agent interest, at least as far as we know. One team might be an increasingly plausible fit for him, though.
New information emerges about Aaron Donald’s potential comeback
Aaron Donald keeps giving signals that he might be ready to make an NFL comeback, but some of those signals are not quite as clear as they initially appear.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said Saturday that recent reports about Donald working out at the Los Angeles Rams’ team facilities were not necessarily an indicator that he is planning a comeback. According to Fowler, Donald has worked out at the team’s facility since his retirement, and still has not made a final decision on a possible comeback.
“Aaron Donald, I’m told, has not made a decision about his future as to whether he’ll play this year, and that he does work out at the Rams’ facility off and on over the last few years since he’s been retired,” Fowler said. “There’s no hard news here, as last I checked, the Rams hadn’t made any sort of firm contract offer to Donald.”

— Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) July 11, 2026
Fowler added that both parties are somewhat leaning into the possible comeback, and that it is not out of the question that the defensive tackle could make a midseason return to the team.
Donald has been teasing a return ever since the Rams made their blockbuster trade to acquire Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. His recent appearance at the team’s facility sent that speculation into overdrive.
While Donald has not yet made a final decision about playing in 2026, there are some well-connected individuals who believe he will ultimately decide to play. The 35-year-old retired after the 2023 season, though he has kept himself in something close to playing shape since then.
Draymond Green sounds very confident about his pitch to LeBron James
Draymond Green admitted that he made his pitch for LeBron James to join the Golden State Warriors, and he thinks he was pretty convincing.
In a recent edition of his “The Draymond Green Show” podcast, Green said he would have been “crazy” not to try and make something of a recruiting pitch to James if given the chance. The Warriors forward argued that his pitch had been very convincing, though even he isn’t sure if it would make a difference in James’ ultimate decision.
“I think I’m pretty decent at it. Does it change anything? Does it make anything happen? I don’t know. I hope so,” Green said. “With the things that I shared in it, I believe it definitely is going to make the brain work a little bit. I don’t think there’s a decision that’s been made, but say if there was, it’ll make you think twice about it.”

Green has been a Klutch Sports client since 2019, so he has a connection to James that way. There have also been rumors about them potentially teaming up before.
The Warriors have been consistently named as one of the most aggressive suitors for James in free agency. The opportunity to play with Steph Curry has been their biggest selling point, and the team supposedly has reason to believe that they are still in consideration. On the other hand, James and his camp have been very quiet about what they’re thinking, so even the teams involved are basically operating off guesswork right now.
