Belgium fan Axelle Despiegelaere lands modeling contract after World Cup

Belgium may have been disappointed by its loss to Argentina in the quarterfinals of the World Cup, but at least the team helped make a star out of one of its nation’s own. Axelle Despiegelaere, a 17-year-old fan who was shown on television during Belgium’s match against Russia in group play, has landed a modeling gig.

Despiegelaere proudly wore a horned hat and face paint featuring the colors of Belgium’s flag. It sounds like she had multiple modeling offers, as she announced on Facebook Tuesday that she has signed a contract with L’Oreal.

Axelle already has nearly 30,000 likes on her Facebook page. However, some of you may disagree with her principles. Remember that Texas Tech cheerleader who drew a ton of criticism earlier this month because of her love of hunting big game? It looks like Despiegelaere has done the same thing.

It obviously didn’t bother L’Oreal.
