Ben Roethlisberger denies broken wrist injury report
Ben Roethlisberger on Wednesday denied a report that says he has a broken bone in his wrist.
Roethlisberger hurt his hand in the first quarter of the Steelers’ Week 12 loss to the Saints and struggled with his accuracy all game. Bleacher Report injury expert Will Carroll reported Wednesday that Big Ben has a fractured hamate bone, which is a small bone in the wrist.
Carroll says the injury is unusual for a football player and believes the quarterback can play through it. He says Roethlisberger’s grip and throwing motion should not be affected, but he will feel it on his releases. Carroll also believes Roethlisberger’s accuracy will be affected.
When presented with the information from Carroll’s report, Roethlisberger and the team denied the injury.
Ben Roethlisberger just told me: "There is absolutely nothing wrong with my wrist.'' Disputed a report that he has a broken bone in wrist.

More from Ben Roethlisberger: "There is no broken bone" in his wrist. Steelers sources also confirm there is no such injury.

What, did you really expect them to confirm the report? A guy’s ankle can be dangling from his body with a bone piercing through the skin and they would still refuse to call it a fracture until “further tests are done.” This is just how teams operate. They like to keep injury news confidential. But anyone who saw Roethlisberger’s reaction last week knows the guy is hurt. The question is how will he play despite the injury.
