Caroline Wozniacki interrupts Rory McIlroy’s press conference to ask if she is getting a nice Christmas gift

Rory McIlroy got off to a strong start with six birdies in the first round at the DP World Tour Championship on Thursday, but Caroline Wozniacki had no interest in listening to her boyfriend talk about that. According to the Golf Channel, Wozniacki snatched a microphone from a reporter during McIlroy’s press conference on Thursday to ask a personal question.

“If you win this week am I going to get a really nice Christmas present?” Woz asked.

“Have you not already got a lot of nice presents?” McIlroy responded.

Rory then assured his lady that she’s going to have a memorable Christmas regardless of the outcome of this weekend’s tournament.

“I have been looking, I have been looking,” McIlroy said. “But it won’t take winning this week to buy you a nice present – I’ll get you a nice present anyway.”

Needless to say, the world’s No. 1 golfer probably isn’t too concerned about hitting up Black Friday deals or hopping on his computer for Cyber Monday. He made over $13 million in PGA and European Tour tournaments alone this year, let alone the millions he rakes in from endorsements.

As much of a Rory fan as I am, I still miss Holly Sweeney dearly. Interrupting each other’s press conferences to talk about Christmas is simply the latest in a string of obnoxious things the couple has done like exchange corny gifts and take cheesy pictures together. But when you’re No. 1 in the world, you can pretty much get away with anything you want.
