UPDATE: Rumors say Venus Williams and Hank Kuehne might be engaged!

Something tells me that I’ve seen this news somewhere before, but now that she’s at Wimbledon (and advancing to the 4th round), the pics are all over. Bossip tells me that Venus is going with this Hank Kuehne character who pocketed just over 10k on the Nationwide Tour as a golfer (and $2.6 mil on the PGA Tour as Curt in the comments points out). Now he has the pleasure (?) of traveling first class around the world and nailing Venus Williams at night. Yikes. He’s also reportedly divorced, carrying some baggage. So where and how did these two get together? There are some questions that just may never go answered. This might be one of them.

    I am with you Jade. As long as we deal only with what we see outwardly, we will never know the true individual. And the other thing, jealousy is a cruel bed fellow. The green eyed monster will steal, kill, and destroy. If Venus had lost, we would have had some really shocking things to say. Venus has made history and all of us are alive to see, hear, and read about it. Normally in history, we are told about what someone has said and done. But for us, we are ALIVE and able to see history change.

    Congratulations Venus, I, too, am proud of you. You are a woman of excellence and I pray that you continually prosper. And, if love is on the horizon, go for it. There are people who have been married for years and know that they are married to the wrong person(s). If God did not ordain this relationship, it will not work. If He did, love him with all of your heart. Love is not about money or the color of one’s skin. Love is about respect, honesty, integrity, and a committment to one another. Instead of saying it will not work, ask yourself, what if it does?

    I think Venus has daddy issues. I really do. In the press in the last few months Richard Williams has been saying some negative things about Venus game when she wasn’t playing well. In Venus victory speech she gave more praise to her mother and Serena and Hank. She really didn’t mention her father she just said thanks dad. I think Venus is angry at her father. I also don’t believe Richard really approves of Venus crossing the colour line.

    I am skeptical of this relationship because Venus is an international tennis superstar and this hank character is a NOBODY and to top it off the guy is DIVORCED with a CHILD. Sorry that’s TOO MUCH baggage.

    The only reason that she is competitvie at all, is because the women’s tour is so pathetically thin in talent. If she or Serena had to go 5 sets they would die.

    Congrats Venus on your recent victory. In relation to your choice of dating, thats not for me or any sensible person to judge. You are your own destiny. Do not allow society or anyone to determine where you put your next foot.
    For all the critics (positive or negative) it pays to consider another person’s feelings. It is time we look beyond the epidermis (the outer skin) and look at the soul. Is he or she worthy of each other’s company? Does he/she owe his/her success to each other’s influence?
    What do we know? We are bystanders, therefore speak as one. Encourage others to do good and do not impose your way of life or thinking.
    Black, yellow, or white, no one knows why God created such diversity but he did and will continue to do so. This diversity transcends humanity. Look at the plants and animals and you also see diversity.

    It’s always amazes me how successful black men could date anybody mostly beneath them financially and mostly white. Seal, quincy Jones, basketball players,actirs no problems. But let a successful, black woman date the same way, the black man is upset and is questionable.

    A sign of the times how distance we are from each other. I saw it starting in the seventies. With new opportunities in the world, blacks, especially woman went nuts, with all the glamour of the world. The guys ego-tripped and started being self absorbed with the enlighten knowledge we started to envision. It’s all by design. I have whites friends and other, but I realize the system is design to either: steal (our brightest away), kill (love for one another), or destroy (God’s love from loving another), as the scripture say. The mentality of BET TV is killing us further. Those (as Venus), who have higher character than the BET crowd may laugh with them, but need someone who’s above the phony image the black culture is about now. I’m sad at how we lost the innate love towards each other we once had. Were, mostly black women, are now programmed to be dissatisfied with each other. The white guy can have the same exact faults, but in nurtured and overlooked, as it should be. I’ve seen it many times with my own eyes. I say only returning to God, with the Holy Spirits help can save our mind and hearts. While someone may try to insult me with what I said here, we’re digging our own graves of deceiving ourselves. Guys (black), all this “BET” player, or conforming “to” other than God, will eventually lend us to before foolish pretenders, than other will see and chuckle at (inside), while you think their respecting you. Bottom line, this world system is design to make fools and mental slaves of us (all really), and operate by our feelings and thoughts that were not aware cleverly put into us via, TV, peer pressure, error conversation and the like. Trust your inside, pray and ask God to come be in you, and heal and replace our errors with his wisdom and love. Above “all”, his kind of love. Venus used to date an Italian guy for so long David Tomasoni now that guy was educated had a degree in economics or something. No one knows why they broke up?     You miss my point! I am not jealous of Venus, nor do I begrudge someone for their endorsements. I am just complaining about her lack of dedication to the her craft. She is a typical example of the modern day athlete who makes big bucks at a young age and then loses the desire to compete. Never mind who she is dating. She is missing a date with history. No one is going to remember her as one of the all time greats when she is winning one major every couple of years.
    I do not have her God given talent and again am not jealous. I was really pulling for her and Serena a few years ago, but now I have become dissapointed and bored with their lack of desire and dedication.

    Every man and woman has a right to choose whom they please. I have problems with those who label an entire race as bad or good, such as there are no good black men so I date white men, Or there are no good white women so I date black women. Personally, if I got wealthy like the William sisters, I would only date women somewhere in the fascimile of my success, which increase the odds that she likes me rather than my money. Successful men or women who date people of other races or the same race that are financially low on the totem pole put themselves at high risk of being sugar momma’s and daddy’s. That not to say that it is true for all cases but certainly it increases the risk significantly. Is this the case for Venus – I don’t no the whole story – but I would not be as alarm if it was Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, or Chris Tucker, Jay Z, or Michael Jordan that she was dating, because they don’t need her or her money to validate there life. What ever your preference for dating – black, white, chinese, japanese, african, hispanic, mexican, go ahead and do it but please don’t say there are no good black, white, oriental, or hispanic men and women so I data another race, that is a foolish belief and attitude. PS. dating a specific race hoping or thinking they are superior or better than another race is foolish. It is all about personalities meshing together. white, black, hispanic, oriental all are guilty of spousal abuse physically, verbal abuse, guilty of infidelity and cheating on their love ones, guilty of child neglect and parential duties. I hope Venus does not think or believe a white man is the answer to her problems but is more focused on the individual attributes no matter what the race.

    First of all, who here has been more successful than Hank? Who is good enough to be a professional athelete and to have made 3.5 million at it already. Is he as successful as her? No, but he has done well! If Venus were a man and she was a woman, he would be Cinderella and we would not be having this discussion! And are people saying that he is a failure in life because he is divorced. That means about half of the American adult population are failures. Is Andre Agassi a failure too? He comes from a wealthy (but classless) family in Texas. Ask him about his sister Kelly’s initials and why she was named Kelly Kay Kuehne. Hank pursued and totally snowed his first wife. She was devoted to him and he payed her back by cheating throughout their whole marriage.
    Are you aware that he is incapable of having a healthy relationship with a woman………just beware.

Do something more constructive with your life, and impress us a little. It has been my experience that’s before Hip Hop being dark brown was not popular in our race at large.White guys were some of the first guys who told me how beautiful I was and the professional black men were interested.     Gee, what happened to my post from a couple of weeks ago?! I was the FIRST person to mention that Hank Kuehne was financially successful and at one time fairly recently was officially the LONGEST hitter on the tour. Hammerin’ Hank is powerful. He was just fairly recently injured. He made nearly a million dollars playing golf on the PGA tour in 2004 ( as my “erased” post earlier attested)! People in the media should be ASHAMED of themselves for wallowing in rank stereotype and outright LIES. All you do is rabble-rouse when you do that. Shaking my head.
