Kudos to Driscoll Middle School in Texas for pulling off the old “nothing to see here, just walking through the neutral zone” trick play. I don’t want to be hard on middle school kids or anything, but the defense should have known what was going on here. The defense wasn’t tipped off by the fact that every offensive player remained perfectly still while the quarterback was just sauntering across the line of scrimmage? I can understand being confused because the play is so strange, but someone on the offense would probably have moved a muscle if the play wasn’t designed. Regardless, you can bet your you-know-what they’ll never fall for that again.
