Report: Adrian Beltre, Rangers continuing extension talks
With Opening Day 2016 officially upon us, the question remains: does Adrian Beltre retire a Texas Ranger? Well, there at least appears to be some mutual interest in that endgame.
According to a report by Jon Heyman of MLB Network on Sunday, the Rangers have had discussions with the All-Star third baseman about a possible contract extension and talks will continue into the regular season.
Rangers and Adrian Beltre have had extension talks, and it's promising enough that they'll continue into season

Beltre, the soon-to-be 37-year-old baseball smasher, batted .287/.334/.453 with 18 home runs and 83 RBIs for Texas in 2015, finishing seventh in AL MVP voting.
The four-time All-Star has defied the kiss of Father Time to this point, delivering five consecutive quality seasons in Arlington since signing there as a free agent in 2011. That plus the fact that Beltre is represented by Scott Boras (not to mention his knack for playing at a high level through pain) should be enough to earn him a relatively lucrative extension. It looks like that’s something the Rangers will be willing to give him as he rides out the final years of his career.
