Angels SS Andrelton Simmons leaves game with sprained ankle
Andrelton Simmons left Tuesday night’s Los Angeles Angels-Kansas City Royals game because of a sprained ankle.
Simmons exited the game before the start of the third inning. The team later said that Simmons left with a sprained ankle.
It turns out that Simmons sprained his right ankle coming down the dugout steps before the game.
I can confirm now that #Angels SS Andrelton Simmons twisted his right ankle coming down the dugout steps before the game. Did not look good.

ESPN has video of the incident.
Simmons has been the Angels’ best position player not named Mike Trout. The shortstop is batting .330/.397/.460 and has 23 walks vs just 10 strikeouts all season. He’s having the best offensive year of his career, and the Angels would hate to lose him for any time.
