
Chase Utley reached out to apologize to Ruben Tejada after Utley’s slide broke Tejada’s leg in Saturday’s National League Division Series game.
According to a series of tweets from Fox Sports’s Ken Rosenthal, Utley reached out to Tejada through David Wright to apologize for what happened during the Dodgers 5-2 victory over the Mets.

Utley is sticking to his guns here. He isn’t sorry about the slide, but merely the outcome. Utley is likely telling the truth that he wasn’t trying to injure Tejada, but this will do little to quiet the controversy that has erupted over the slide, and the debate over whether or not it was dirty.
