Report: Chris Sale unlikely to be traded before deadline despite Red Sox interest
While his name will undoubtedly continue to come up, it doesn’t sound as if Chris Sale will be going anywhere on Monday.
Multiple reports indicate that a trade for the White Sox ace is a longshot at this point.
A source who said yesterday the chances of Chris Sale getting dealt were under 5 percent says again this morning "under 5 percent"

The team pushing the hardest for a Sale deal appears to be the Boston Red Sox, but it’s not at all likely.

Asked a source how strongly I should pursue possibility of #RedSox acquiring #WhiteSox’s Sale. His response: “Don’t waste your time.”

It’s no surprise. The asking price for Sale is said to be through the roof, even in spite of his recent meltdown. There’s no reason for the White Sox to change their stance. They have a cost-controlled, elite pitcher under team control through 2019, and they have every right to demand a huge sum for him.
