Dodgers manager has funny comment about Paul Goldschmidt leaving NL West
Paul Goldschmidt will no longer be terrorizing NL West pitching staffs as frequently as he used to, and one of the division’s managers is ecstatic about that.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts joked on Tuesday about Goldschmidt being traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central. He says he plans to send Goldschmidt flowers and hopes he’ll stay out of the NL West.

On the other side, Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon is not too happy to see Goldschmidt land in the division.

Why would he be? Goldschmidt is a career .297 hitter with a career .930 OPS. He’s made six straight All-Star teams and has three top-3 finishes in the NL MVP race. And he already seems to be easing into things nicely in St. Louis.
