Odubel Herrera reportedly arrested in domestic violence incident
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera was arrested on Monday following an alleged domestic violence incident at a casino in Atlantic City.
According to a police report reviewed by Matt Gelb of The Athletic, Herrera was charged with simple assault after a 20-year-old woman who said she was his girlfriend had “visible signs of injury to her arm and neck.”

The victim, a 20 year old woman, "had visible signs of injury to her arms and neck that was sustained after being assaulted by her boyfriend,” according to the report. She refused medical attention.

Herrera is batting .222 with one home run and 16 RBI in his fifth full season with the Phillies. Gabe Kapler defended him against an anonymous scout who trashed him before the season began, but Herrera is having his worst year as a pro. That may be the least of the worries with the charge he is facing.
