Report: Padres reluctant to trade top prospect Luis Urias
The San Diego Padres have been prominently linked to ace Noah Syndergaard, but making such a move would require them to trade some highly-touted prospects. A new report suggests that they may be reluctant to do that with at least one of them.
According to Dennis Lin of The Athletic, the Padres are not motivated to move top infield prospect Luis Urias, even in a potential Syndergaard deal.
While other teams have raised Luis Urías’ name in trade discussions, the Padres have not shown much desire to move him, even in a potential deal for a Noah Syndergaard-type, sources tell The Athletic.

The Padres are one of two teams that have caught the attention of the Mets for their potential prospect haul. Perhaps the Padres could make the deal without including Urias, a consensus top-40 prospect, but it would get tougher.
