Shohei Ohtani did not make the road trip to Arlington, Texas, with his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates for a good reason.
The Dodgers are in Texas for the first part of a 5-game road trip that will see them play the Rangers for three games, and then visit the Chicago Cubs for two games. Ohtani did not travel with his team so he could remain in Southern California in anticipation of the birth of his first child.
The Dodgers officially placed Ohtani on the paternity list and selected the contract of Eddie Rosario. They also transferred Edgardo Henriquez to the 60-day injured list to make room.
