Stephen Strasburg’s latest DL trip due to pinched nerve in neck

Stephen Strasburg has once again landed on the disabled list after he returned to make just one start, but his latest injury seems different from the one that landed him on the DL earlier this season.
The Nationals placed Strasburg on the DL Thursday morning with what is being called a “pinched nerve” in his neck.

Can confirm Strasburg is going to the DL because of a pinched nerve in his neck, as @chelsea_janes said.

Strasburg was previously shut down due to a shoulder issue, so it’s possible his ailments are related. Whatever the case, he had his worst start of the season last Friday when he allowed six runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings. The right-hander got into a heated argument in the dugout with Max Scherzer after that outing.
With the Nationals 50-51 and fading from playoff contention, it might make sense to shut Strasburg down for the remainder of the season.
