The continuing story of Alex Rodriguez has taken yet another turn.
According to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe on Saturday, the Yankees have scheduled a press conference with Rodriguez for Sunday morning. General manager Brian Cashman and manager Joe Girardi will also reportedly be in attendance.

Rodriguez, 41, is hitting just .204/.252/.356 with nine home runs and 29 RBIs in 62 appearances for the team in 2016. It had been rumored that the 14-time All-Star might be released before the end of the season, a development that Rodriguez is said to be at peace with.
The Yankees are still on the hook for the $24 million Rodriguez has left on his deal, per Darren Rovell of ESPN. The three-time AL MVP had previously announced his plans to retire after the 2017 season. But with the Yankees shifting into rebuild mode and a potential release looming, perhaps Sunday will provide us with some clarity as to if that timetable has changed at all.
