Anthony Davis played big role in recruiting Julius Randle to Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans were able to land one former Kentucky big man with the help of another.
On Monday, the Pelicans agreed to a two-year, $18 million deal with Julius Randle after his rights were renounced by the Los Angeles Lakers, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Wojnarowski went on to add that Anthony Davis’ “tenacious” recruiting of Randle helped seal the deal.

After going 48-34 and making the second round of the playoffs last season, the Pelicans could be looking very different. Rajon Rondo just left the team to sign with the Lakers and DeMarcus Cousins’ return also seems uncertain.
But Davis, who is signed through 2021, is still New Orleans’ franchise player, and now Randle joins him on a starkly talented Pelicans frontline. While rumors linking Davis to certain superteams persist, Pelicans fans can breathe easy for now with The Brow showing his continued commitment to the team.
