DeMarcus Cousins does not seem pleased about Anthony Davis being chosen as All-Star

Anthony-Davis-HornetsAnthony Davis was named to the Western Conference All-Star team on Friday to replace the injured Kobe Bryant. The Pelicans star is having a phenomenal sophomore season and the game is being held in New Orleans, so he seemed like an obvious choice.

Davis is averaging a double-double with 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this season. He also leads the NBA with 3.3 blocks per game. As Ball Don’t Lie pointed out, fans voted Davis seventh among front court players in the West. Dwight Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge were chosen as reserves by the coaches ahead of Davis.

Politics …ha!

Another candidate to fill the roster spot would have been Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins, who is averaging 22.7 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. He tweeted the following when it was announced that Davis had made the team.

Cousins is probably right. His stats are certainly comparable to Davis’, but Davis doesn’t make headlines for not allowing his teammates to shake opponents’ hands. Couple that with the fact that the game is in New Orleans this year and it is no surprise that the higher-ups chose the hometown hero.
