Dwyane Wade agrees to one-year deal with Cavaliers
Dwyane Wade is headed to Cleveland, as expected.
Wade has reached an agreement with the Cavs on a one-year deal worth $2.3 million, The Vertical’s Shams Charania first reported.
Wade and the Chicago Bulls reached a buyout agreement on Sunday that allowed the guard to be placed on waivers. He was said to be choosing between teams like the Cavs, Spurs and Heat, with Cleveland being the frontrunners.
One report said Wade wanted to be a starter wherever he went.
In Cleveland, Wade will join a team that has been to three straight NBA Finals, and he’ll be teaming with longtime friend and former Heat teammate, LeBron James. Wade will also be competing with several shooting guards in Cleveland, like J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and Kyle Korver. His minutes will probably decrease from the nearly 30 he played per game last season with the Bulls.
