Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum hurt his ankle Monday night during his team’s game against the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif.
Tatum scored a three-point shot from the left wing to give the Celtics a 78-68 lead late in the third quarter. Kings center Domantas Sabonis was also called for a foul after he closed out hard and took up some of Tatum’s landing space. The Celtics swingman landed on Sabonis’ foot and severely rolled his left ankle.
The 27-year-old was in a lot of pain while grabbing at his left leg.

Sabonis was called for a flagrant foul on the play. After a Celtics timeout, Tatum was able to take the two free throws to keep him eligible to return, splitting the pair to give Boston a 79-68 advantage.
However, Tatum immediately followed medical personnel to the locker room after the incident. He was able to walk off the floor on his own but still appeared hobbled by the injury.

The Celtics labeled him doubtful to return.
The six-time All-Star left the game with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists on 8/15 shooting.
