Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell are the ‘swag bros’
Among the bright spots in what has been a disappointing season for the Lakers has been the development of what could be one of the NBA’s better backcourts in a few years.
Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell are two pieces the Lakers hope can become foundation pieces, along with Julius Randle. Thanks to Byron Scott loosening Russell’s leash, he and Clarkson have been able to forge a chemistry on the floor that bodes well for the team’s future.
With their games on the rise, and the sky as the limit, all the duo need is a catch nickname and they’re set. Perhaps, they’ve already found one, courtesy of Clarkson.
New nickname? Jordan Clarkson called him and D'Angelo Russell the "Swag Bros."

Who knows if it’ll stick, but it kind of fits considering Clarkson’s confidence has been steadily growing and Russell wasn’t shy about declaring he has ice in his veins after hitting a three-pointer against the Nets.
When it comes to guard tandem nicknames, “Splash Brothers” is as good as it gets right now. And, it just so happens, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson make up the best backcourt in league too. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan deserve mention. So do Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum and Washington’s John Wall and Bradley Beal.
Clarkson and Russell aren’t in the discussion yet. However, they may shoot, pass, and swag their way into it before long.
