LeBron James’ sons switch schools from Crossroads to Sierra Canyon

LeBron Bronny James

LeBron James’ sons are switching schools and heading to their long-rumored destination.

The Los Angeles Times’ Tania Gangulia reported on Wednesday that Bronny and Bryce are switching from Crossroads School in Santa Monica to Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth. Crossroads is closer in distance to the James’ Brentwood home than Sierra Canyon, but the latter offers greater potential in basketball. Both Sierra Canyon’s boys and girls’ basketball teams won the CIF Open Division championships last season, which is the most competitive high school level in the state. The boys team was ranked No. 1 in the country by Maxpreps.

Sierra Canyon has been home to Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Duke’s Marvin Bagley, and Willow Smith, among other famous alumni. Gary Payton had said last year that the boys would end up there.

Sierra Canyon’s basketball team featured top recruit Cassius Stanley, as well as the sons of Kenyon Martin and Scottie Pippen last season. All three were seniors this year.

Bronny is entering the ninth grade. A former NBA All-Star recently described him as a “special” player.
