Nerlens Noel is only four games into his NBA career, and he’s already showing what has made him such a sought-after commodity.
Noel stuffed James Harden at the rim with a sick block to end the third quarter of the Sixers-Rockets game on Monday. Noel had 10 points, 5 assists, 6 steals and the one big block in the game, which turned out to be a 104-93 loss for his Philly squad.
Noel gained a reputation in college for being an elite shot blocker when he averaged 4.4 blocks per game during his only season at Kentucky. Taken No. 6 overall in the 2013 draft, Noel was traded by the Pelicans to the Sixers as part of the Jrue Holiday deal, and he missed all of last season after having knee surgery. He’s averaging 8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals through four games of his rookie season.
