Raptors, Spurs reportedly among teams pursuing Pau Gasol
Pau Gasol is a wanted man in free agency, and he’s expected to have his share of big offers to choose from.
According to Marc Stein and Marc J. Spears of ESPN, Gasol is drawing interest from a number of teams, including the Toronto Raptors, and San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs’ interest is likely to accelerate if they are not able to land Kevin Durant.
In addition to those suitors, the Portland Trail Blazers have offered Gasol $40 million over 2 years, with the Minnesota Timberwolves’ offer in a similar range.
The interest from Portland has been previously reported, as has Minnesota coach Tom Thibodeau’s desire to reunite with Gasol. Of course, the Spurs are looming, and the player’s own brother has suggested that he go there. They’ll be a strong player in the chase, probably once the Durant sweepstakes are concluded.
