Steph Curry making 1 big change amid Warriors’ losing streak

The Golden State Warriors’ current losing streak appears to have their star player going green with rage.

Marcus Thompson of The Athletic reported this week that Curry is returning to his old substitution pattern following the Warriors’ loss to the imploding Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. The former MVP will go back to playing all of the first and third quarters and resting to start the second and fourth.

In his age-33 season this year, Curry has been using a different pattern for his minutes, taking planned rests in each quarter. During Saturday’s game against the Lakers, Curry subbed out with roughly three minutes left in the third quarter and the Warriors holding an eight-point lead. By the time that Curry returned in the fourth quarter though, the Lakers had tied the game and ended up winning 124-116.

The Warriors have now lost their last four games in a row and eight of their last ten. They were also briefly supplanted as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference by the Memphis Grizzlies. It has been a frustrating season for Curry individually as well, so he will be hoping to recapture some of his magic by going back to an old reliable method with his playing time.
