Mount St. Joseph basketball player Lauren Hill’s family announced on Monday that they have signed up for hospice care.
Hill, who has an inoperable brain tumor, fulfilled her dream of playing college basketball last month when her team’s game against Hiram College was pushed up to assure that Lauren would be well enough to play in it. As it turns out, Hill has been able to fight off her illness enough to appear in games since then.
Hill’s family said she has been struggling with headaches and sleeping but also noted that she has maintained the same great attitude that has captured the hearts of millions across the country.
“Overall she has been in good spirits this week and staying busy with special projects,” the family wrote on Facebook early Wednesday morning. “In a funny, goofy mood tonight.”
Our thoughts are with Hill and her family.
