David Shaw delivers academics humblebrag in response to NCAA satellite camp ban

David-Shaw-Stanford

Stanford coach David Shaw had some zingers when the subject of satellite camps came up on Sunday.

The NCAA banned satellite camps on Friday, a move that has proven controversial. Detractors view them as a backhanded way for coaches to muscle in on recruits, particularly in SEC country, without violating NCAA rules. Supporters believe they’re a valuable means of getting prospective student athletes valuable experience and a chance to work with some of the finest coaches in the nation.

Either way, Shaw’s take on satellite camps was basically to remind everyone that Stanford students are smarter than you.

David Shaw says no reason for satellite camps "where there might be one person in the entire state that's eligible to get into Stanford."

Well, alrighty then.

Of course, we know standards are high at Stanford. Shaw is only more than happy to remind us of that fact, although this guy might not quite meet those standards.
