Referee Ron Cherry took a massive hit during Saturday’s Notre Dame-USC game.
USC’s Michael Hutchings was running after a play ended and didn’t appear to be watching where he was going. He ended up running straight into Cherry:

Cherry spoke with the medical staff but ended up staying in the game. You could make the argument that officials on the field should be wearing helmets and full padding after a play like that.
