This is a hugely important position for the Tigers. They brought in Brady before the 2019 season, and he turned the offense into an explosive unit that led the way en route to a national title. Brady then left to become the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, and Linehan will be expected to keep that momentum going.
Linehan was the head coach of the St. Louis Rams from 2006 to 2008 and has also been offensive coordinator for four teams. Most recently he served in that position for the Dallas Cowboys, but he was fired after the 2018 season following several years of inconsistency. He has a quality reputation around the game, so this is, at least on paper, a solid get for Ed Orgeron.
