Seth Russell has fractured bone in neck
Baylor has started the season 6-0 and is currently the No. 2 team in the country behind one of college football most potent offenses. However, they will be without the most important component of that unit for the foreseeable future.
During the fourth quarter, Seth Russell scrambled in an attempt to gain a first down. He did not get the first down, but did pick up an injury on the play, one that will probably cause him to miss significant time.
Update on Baylor QB Seth Russell: X-rays and a CT scan revealed a fracture in one of the bones of his neck. Will see a specialist next week.

A junior, Russell is in his first season as Baylor’s starting quarterback. Including Saturday, he’s thrown for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns in seven games this year. Last week, against West Virginia, Russell became the second player in school history to throw for 300+ yards and rush for 100+ yards in the same game, joining Robert Griffin III.
Baylor came into the weekend leading FBS with an averages of 63.8 points and 719.7 yards per game. The guy who will take over the controls of the Bears’ high-powered attack going forward will be freshman Jarrett Stidham, who has completed 24-of-28 passes this season for 331 yards with 6 touchdowns and zero interceptions in limited duty.
