Video: Justin Herbert emotional after leading Oregon to Rose Bowl win

Justin Herbert

The Oregon Ducks fought hard to win the Rose Bowl on Wednesday against Wisconsin, and the emotions from Justin Herbert showed just how much the game meant to him.

Herbert rushed for three touchdowns in Oregon’s 28-27 win over the Badgers and was named Offensive MVP of the game. Herbert is a Eugene, Oregon native and grew up as a huge Ducks fan, dreaming of one day playing in and winning the Rose Bowl. Having that dream come true effectively brought him to tears.

“It’s the best feeling in the world,” Herbert said in a postgame interview. “This is the greatest experience I’ve ever had. To be a part of this team, to be a part of this program — I’m going to miss it a lot.”

Herbert was viewed as an NFL Draft prospect after his junior season but decided to return to school. His reward was leading the Ducks to a 12-2 season and closing his career with a win in the Rose Bowl. It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.
