This coming Thursday isn’t just any old Thursday, it’s Thanksgiving. That’s apparently not how Will Muschamp sees it.
There are several rivalry games this weekend in college football. Among them is the game between Clemson and South Carolina on Saturday. Ahead of the matchup, the Gamecocks will hold practice Thursday morning. Later, they’re going to have a meal, which is what Muschamp thinks Thanksgiving really is.
“We’ve got practice in the morning,” Muschamp said, via SEC Country. “We’ll be in here early. It’s awesome. Thanksgiving is a meal. It’s not a day. We’re going to have a great meal and then we’re going to watch a little tape, then maybe watch a little more tape.”
While it’s not uncommon for teams to practice on Thanksgiving, it is for the head coach to say something like this. I guess we can’t say Muschamp isn’t taking this coaching thing seriously. Hopefully, the spread for the Thanksgiving meal is a good one.
Muschamp is in his first year at South Carolina after four seasons as the head coach at Florida. The Gamecocks are 6-5 overall and have a 3-5 record in SEC play.
