Baker Mayfield met with Jets but not Giants at Senior Bowl
Baker Mayfield is considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft, and he is a candidate to be taken by either of the New York teams. The Giants have the No. 2 overall pick, while the Jets will be picking at No. 6.
Mayfield was at Radio Row for the Super Bowl in Minneapolis on Friday and did the media rounds. He talked with Newsday’s Tom Rock and told the New York reporter that he met with the Jets at the Senior Bowl but not the Giants.
Baker Mayfield said he met with Jets at the Senior Bowl last week. He was scheduled to meet w the Giants but they did not connect.

That seems to say something. While the Giants will likely connect with him in the future, you think they would have made it a priority to meet with him if they felt he was a real strong possibility at No. 2.
Either way, Mayfield expressed interest in going to the Giants. He described playing in the big city and with the Giants’ receivers as “an ideal situation.”

“I’m ready to go and compete. I’m not going to wait lightly, but obviously sitting behind Eli would be a great situation,” Mayfield said.
Josh Rosen seems like he might be more of a fit for the Giants, but Mayfield would be desirable as well. Plenty of teams will have interest in him. He reportedly is in the mix to even go No. 1 overall to Cleveland.
