Report: Broncos’ running back position battle ‘totally open’
The Denver Broncos have a four-way competition for the starting running back position, and it’s said to be a wide open affair.
According to USA Today’s Lindsay Jones, the running back job is “totally open,” with four players — Devontae Booker, Royce Freeman, De’Angelo Henderson, and Phillip Lindsay — receiving first-team reps during Sunday’s practice.
Running back job is totally open, and will be the most compelling battle here through camp. Four guys got 1st team reps on Sunday, we'll learn a lot more once pads come on this week.

The general consensus is that Booker and Freeman figure to have the best opportunity to get regular season carries. Freeman in particular could be one of a number of standout rookie running backs in the league. Booker is the most experienced, but has never really taken the opportunity to make the position his own. Ultimately, this will be one of the most interesting and intriguing position battles in any camp this year.
