Colt McCoy leaves game with lower leg injury

Colt McCoy

Colt McCoy left the Washington Redskins’ Monday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles after suffering a lower leg injury late in the first quarter.

McCoy was trying to scramble on a second down and ended up slipping and going down for a loss of six yards. As he went down, his right leg whipped around and smacked Malcolm Jenkins in the leg.

McCoy appeared to be in great pain and grabbing his lower right leg after the collision. Though he finished out the field goal drive, McCoy was in pain on the sidelines afterwards and ended up going to the locker room after trying to test his drop back.

Newly-signed backup Mark Sanchez entered the game on the Redskins’ next possession.
