Derek Carr could reportedly return as early as Week 6
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is expected to miss anywhere from two to six weeks after suffering a back injury in last week’s loss to the Denver Broncos, and the team is reportedly hopeful that he will come in on the low end of that recovery timeline.
Stephania Bell of ESPN said on “NFL Live” Friday that Carr’s condition has already improved and he could return to the field as early as Week 6.

That would be a huge break for the Raiders, who are 2-2 and cannot afford to be without their starting quarterback for long if they want to keep pace with the Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. It was a good sign that Carr was already back at practice this week, and this further confirms that his injury may not be as significant as initially feared.
