NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the day that Carr was experiencing back spasms and some soreness but was not expected to miss time.
Carr took a knee to the lower back during Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos and was able to walk off the field under his own power. Oakland initially seemed optimistic that he would be fine going forward, but Carr’s MRI obviously revealed bad news.
