Derek Carr to undergo MRI for back spasms
Derek Carr is set to undergo an MRI after experiencing what his head coach called back spasms.
Carr left Sunday’s Oakland Raiders game against the Denver Broncos after being hit in the lower back. He went into the locker room and did not return and was replaced by E.J. Manuel.
After the game, Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said Carr was experiencing spasms. He also said Carr’s injury does not appear to be a long-term injury.
Jack Del Rio on Raiders QB Derek Carr: back spasms. "Cautionary" tests now but spasms "should be something that cleans up" quickly.

Jack Del Rio on Derek Carr: "His back spasmed up. That's what it was. … I'm not a doctor." But not concerned long term based on what told.

Carr said he was “optimistic” about playing in the Raiders’ Week 5 game against Baltimore. He also indicated he would undergo an MRI on Monday.
The Raiders have now lost two in a row after winning their first two games. Manuel, who went 11 of 17 for 106 yards and an interception, would likely get the start if Carr misses any more time.
