Derrius Guice worked himself back from a torn ACL, but now there’s some foreboding news on the state of his other knee.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Washington Redskins running back is having an MRI on the knee he injured in college. Guice is expected to miss time with the unspecified injury, though the team hopes he can avoid surgery.
Sources: #Redskins RB Derrius Guice had an MRI this morning on the other, non-ACL knee and he’s likely to miss some time. The hope is he does not need surgery, but the team is doing a full evaluation. He gained 18 yards on 10 carries, looking like he wasn’t himself.

Guice is turning into a player who simply can’t stay healthy. If he does need surgery, that would mean he’s had procedures on both of his knees in the first two years of his NFL career, adding on to the issue he had in college. That’s a very worrisome thing for a running back, even a 22-year-old one.
On the other hand, Guice missing time could open the door for Adrian Peterson, who didn’t appear to have much of a role 24 hours ago.
