Dez Bryant would ‘love’ to have Greg Hardy back with Cowboys
It seems like the Dallas Cowboys have already decided that they are not going to bring back defensive end Greg Hardy next season, but Dez Bryant would like the team to reconsider.
Bryant recently told Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News that Hardy is a “great teammate” and he hopes he sticks around.
“You see guys perform at a high level around him, and that’s what he brings to the defense,” Bryant said. “I know I would love to see Greg back with us. He’s a great teammate. I love him. I hope we can get him back.
“Greg Hardy loves the game. Anybody who loves the game, I love him.”
Bryant also took to Instagram over the weekend to express his support for Hardy.
Hardy is more than capable of making a positive impact on the field, but it is the off-field stuff that has to be a major concern for the Cowboys and any other team that entertains the idea of signing the 27-year-old. We recently learned that Hardy partied a lot during the season and had trouble staying in shape because of it.
In addition to showing a lack of focus and reportedly arriving late to meetings, Hardy was also involved in a disturbing domestic violence incident in May 2014. Some new details from that emerged several months ago, and they were very disturbing.
Hardy doesn’t deserve to be on an NFL roster, but his talent will probably make him worth the risk and potential PR nightmare for some desperate team.
