Ezekiel Elliott’s girlfriend Tiffany Thompson told friend to lie to police?

The Columbus City Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday that Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will not be charged in his domestic violence case. One of the testimonies that helped clear the rookie came from a friend of Elliott’s ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson.

Documents that were released by the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday included testimony from a woman named Ayrin Mason, who claims she was with Thompson on the day Thompson called police and accused Elliott of assaulting her. In her statement, Mason claimed she was leaving a bar at approximately 2:00 a.m. on July 22 with Thompson when Thompson got into a fight with another woman.

According to Mason, the woman slapped Thompson in the face and pulled her hair. After the fight, Mason says Thompson told her to accompany her to Elliott’s apartment in Columbus, where he was supposedly having a party. Upon their arrival at Elliott’s residence, Mason claims Elliott pulled up riding in the passenger seat of a car that was being driven by a female. That allegedly enraged Thompson, who began “screaming” at the driver.

Mason then witnessed Elliott, the driver and the other passengers in the car walk into the apartment. She testified that she did not see Elliott make physical contact with Thompson at any point. Mason also said she heard Thompson shout at Elliott that she was going to “ruin his career.”

Even more troubling are the text messages Mason provided, which allegedly show Thompson asking her to lie to police and say Elliott dragged Thompson out of a car.

When Thompson first accused Elliott of assaulting her, she shared some disturbing photos of her injuries. Elliott told police Thompson suffered the injuries in a bar fight, which is consistent with Mason’s testimony. Prosecutors chose to drop the case due to “conflicting and inconsistent information.”
