Protesters rappelling at Panthers-Colts game unveil banner
Two fans were seen rappelling down from the top deck at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte during Monday night’s Panthers-Colts game. The fans rappelled to relate a message of protest against Bank of America.
At first, ESPN did not know what the fans were planning nor why they were doing it, but as they returned from a commercial late in the third quarter, they showed the odd scene:

Radio host and WRTV reporter Michael Grady says the message on the fans’ banner was “BOA DUMP DOMINION.” He also noted that security didn’t know what to do with the fans.

The fans’ message was to tell Bank of America to stop financing a Dominion liquefied natural gas export facility in Maryland. One of the protesters was handcuffed as a result:

Typically fans with a message to share at ball games they take the Miami Hurricanes fans route. Of course, rappelling is decidedly more exciting, and the fans sure did what they needed to to get their message out there.
