Gus Bradley fired by Jaguars

Gus Bradley

Gus Bradley has finally been fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bradley was fired on Sunday after the team blew a 13-0 lead against the Houston Texans and lost 21-20. The Jags fell to 2-12 with the defeat.

Sunday’s loss ensured that the Jags would finish tied for their worst record under Bradley, in a best-case scenario. The team had won 4, 3, and 5 games in the three previous seasons under Bradley’s leadership and were on track for potentially a 2-14 season this year.

Bradley’s Jaguars ranked last in the NFL in points scored during his first two seasons, and they ranked 27th in the league this season. The team has not seen any improvement in Bradley’s four years. In fact, one could argue that former first-round pick Blake Bortles has regressed since last season.

Jacksonville is in desperate need of a new head coach who can turn the team around and give them their first winning season since 2007. There have been reports that Tom Coughlin is interested in a return to the franchise.
