Sorry ladies, JJ Watt doesn’t have time for all of your prom requests

Asking an athlete to be your date to the dance has become a popular activity over the past several years with the rise of social media outlets like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Naturally, most of the requests are not fulfilled, as NFL players and the like are typically very busy.

Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt feels badly about this. Apparently Watt has been receiving an overwhelming number of prom invitations recently, so he felt the need to address the proposals on his Facebook page Wednesday night.

When you’re the popular kid in school, you have to break a lot of hearts. Watt was nice enough to propose to a 6-year-old girl who wanted to marry him and make her his fake wife for the day, but he can’t please everyone. Not every girl can be as lucky as this Joe Haden fan. That being said, my guess is Watt’s message to the fans won’t stop them from trying.
