JJ Watt has tibial plateau fracture, reportedly out for season
J.J. Watt has a tibial plateau fracture, the Houston Texans announced Sunday night. The injury is bad enough that one reporter says the defensive end will be out for the season.
Watt exited Sunday night’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after injuring his left leg in the first quarter. He was helped off the field, then carted into the locker room and taken to the hospital for examination.
The team announced his injury during the third quarter.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says Watt’s injury will knock him out for the season.

This is the second season in a row in which Watt has been injured. Last year he was limited to three games because of multiple back surgeries.
Watt was a first-team All-Pro from 2012-2015, winning AP Defensive Player of the Year three times during that span. Now it looks like injuries are hitting him hard in his prime.
