Josh Allen has funny take on his contribution to Bills win

Josh Allen looks frustrated

The Buffalo Bills put together a hugely impressive performance on Sunday, blowing out the Dallas Cowboys 31-10. Perhaps more impressively, they did it without needing much of anything from quarterback Josh Allen.

The Bills were led by running back James Cook, who rushed for 179 yards on 25 carries. He added two catches for 42 yards, and scored two total touchdowns on the day. That left Allen in a supporting role, as he went just 7/15 for 94 yards passing, along with 24 rushing yards.

Allen’s relatively quiet performance was not lost on him. After the game, he admitted to reporters that he felt like “the kid on the class project that didn’t do anything and still got an A.”

Those numbers are the exception for Allen, not the norm. After all, he came into Sunday’s game with 3,447 passing yards on the season in what is a consistently high-octane offense. On the other hand, the more limited role meant that Allen did not throw an interception for just the third time this year.

The Bills are 8-6 and firmly in the playoff race, defying expectations with consecutive wins over the Chiefs and Cowboys. Allen will definitely need to bring some A-worthy performances moving forward to keep the momentum going.
