Larry Fitzgerald reportedly has ‘no plans to retire’
Larry Fitzgerald caught eight passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the New England Patriots Sunday night, leading many Arizona Cardinals fans to wonder why the 33-year-old is planning on retiring after the season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he’s not.
Cardinals fans can relax. Larry Fitzgerald has no plans to retire after this year, per sources. It's why he signed an extension last month.

That directly contradicts a Sunday report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, who claimed sources close to Fitzgerald said the 2016 season will be the nine-time Pro Bowler’s last.
At age 33, Fitzgerald isn’t a young player. However, he hauled in a career-high 109 receptions last season and looked plenty fresh against New England. He also signed an extension this past offseason that will keep him under contract with the Cardinals through at least 2017.
When asked about the report that he plans to retire, Fitzgerald didn’t exactly refute it.

Despite an injury scare during training camp, Fitzgerald is still playing at a high level. He probably sees no reason to address retirement rumors when there are still 15 games to play. We don’t blame him for that.
