Miami Dolphins reportedly planning to tank next season
The Miami Dolphins went 7-9 this season, which is apparently more wins than they should be expected to rack up next season.
A few Dolphins reporters say they have heard the team is planning to tank in 2019 as they seek a franchise quarterback. Armando Salguero, a Miami Herald columnist, says the Dolphins are tanking.
That's fine. Then tank for someone else. The point is the Dolphins are tanking.
TANKING.
Everyone I speak to behind the scenes tells me so. https://t.co/wsvc7PIORe

Barry Jackson, also of the Herald, says he has been told the same thing.
This was reinforced to me, too, this week. Nothing can get in the way of losing next season! As Armando coined, Tank for Tua https://t.co/yzIEb1uHag

The Dolphins have had Ryan Tannehill at quarterback for the last six seasons. He was the No. 8 overall pick by them in 2012 and showed some promise, though he ultimately fell short of being a franchise QB and has missed time due to injury. The Dolphins are planning to move on from him, which would create an opportunity to set up a roster ripe for tanking.
