Michael Bennett’s time with the New England Patriots did not go as he wanted, and now he has been traded to a new team.
The New England Patriots on Thursday traded Bennett to the Dallas Cowboys for a 7th-round pick that can go to a 6th-round pick in 2021, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Bennett initially was pleased to be part of the Patriots, but that all changed as time went on. The defensive lineman vented about his decreasing role with the team and then was upset after being suspended a game for an issue with position coach Bret Bielema.
Bennett had 2.5 sacks in six games and had only played around 130 snaps all season for the Patriots.
