Myles Garrett says he made ‘mistake’ and lost his cool

Myles Garrett

Myles Garrett expressed regret for his actions during Thursday night’s game between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Garrett was interviewed in the locker room after the game and said he “made a mistake” and lost his cool.

“I made a mistake and I lost my cool and I regret it. It’s going to come back to hurt our team. The guys who jumped in to the scrum, I appreciate my team having my back, but it should never have gotten to that point. That’s on me,” Garrett said.

“That is embarrassing. What I did was foolish and I shouldn’t have allowed myself to slip like that. That is out of character, it was an emotional game … I shouldn’t have allowed myself to fall into those emotions.”

Credit to Garrett for at least owning his actions. He went way overboard by smashing Mason Rudolph in the head with his helmet and knows it. Garrett also says eight seconds of action should not overshadow the team’s win. It will be hard to feel otherwise, even for at least one of his teammates.

Garrett was one of three players who were ejected for the fight. His teammate, Larry Ogunjobi, and Pittsburgh’s Maurkice Pouncey were also tossed.
